Xbox chief Phil Spencer has just emailed Microsoft employees about the massive Xbox leak that happened earlier today. In the internal memo, obtained by The Verge, Spencer says Microsoft’s Xbox plans “were unintentionally disclosed” as part of the FTC v. Microsoft case. Documents revealed a lot: a disc-less Series X redesign, a 2028 Xbox that could deliver “cloud hybrid games,” a new Xbox controller, unannounced Bethesda games, and even discussions about acquiring Nintendo.

In yet more FTC document leaks, information about Xbox Series X and S sales data has started to proliferate, and the results might be surprising to some. As spotted by IGN, in April 2022 Microsoft said that the Xbox Series S accounted for 75% of total Xbox Series sales since launch.
That's a hefty amount for a console that often gets labelled as 'not next-gen', and it clearly shows the benefit of launching two different consoles right off the bat. We can't complain at more options for Xbox customers either!

Microsoft made a number of announcements during its Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2023, most of which revolved around Japan and Japan-inspired games and updates. Xbox executives Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond talked about the importance of the Japanese market. "Japan will always have a special place in my heart for pioneering innovative ways to play, from the Game Boy, to PSP, to the Switch," Spencer said.

Xbox went on to reveal a collaboration between legendary Japanese developers Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro and Goichi “Suda51” Suda, announce an Xbox version of Octopath Traveller 2, and confirm a raft of Game Pass additions.

You addressed what I replied to Phil Spencer’s post directly on X. I told him “Whatever you guys at Xbox do, could you please NOT go the all-digital future? If you don’t release future consoles with disc drives, usb external disc drives compatible with All Xbox games (keep the back compat stuff baked into the OS), rebuying over half my library to replace physical with digital is nightmare fuel.”

I hope they continue with the X and S strategy in future gens too as people like me who barely get to get a few hours in/week don't really care about native 4k or locked 60 fps. I'm happy to rock my budget series s with gamepass ultimate

my main concern is the digital Series X. yes its good for those that are new to the ecosystem. but bad for those that care about physical discs. Eventually the disc hardware for Series X will no longer be available and we will have to go all digital. which in my opinion isn't good.

Raised a Sony boy for decades but then they began pulling some sus moves. Was walking around an outlet one day with my bro and we stumbled into GameStop where I seen a Series S for the exact amount of my budget at that moment so I said screw it and got it. Convinced myself that I was only curious about Game Pass but have just been hooked since.
Find myself only playing my PS5 whenever my wife(who’s also a Sony girl) practically calls me out as a traitor lol

Yes! I actually did buy a Series S that I had for 3 days and then I took it back for a full refund once I found a Series X. I had to drive 50 miles to get it but to me I didn’t mind the commute

Bought a Series S April 2021 during the shortage and then was able to get five Series X consoles (at retail via the console) a week later. I kept one for myself, gave the S to my 8 year old son and sold the other four Series X to my friends at the price I paid as a middle finger to the scalpers. I did the same for PS5 Disc Editions as well back then.

I love DOOM games, looking forward! I'm sure there will be a way to use discs on the new upcoming Xbox, it would be insane to Think that Microsoft would be ditching physical media soon because the original Series X has a disc drive.

Ok the point of buying a series s and then switch to the x I’m one of those ppl, there where no series x when I could buy it so I just bought the s, and waited to buy the x and am selling the s now, maybe in the future I’ll buy the s black edition just to have a more portable console for trips and stuff like that. But the optimization on games on the series x is leaps and bounds over the series s, games look way better and are not choppy like it has happened on the series s for me.

Hey Ray. Skillup mentioned in his video what happened with the Microsoft leak. Apparently if u open the pdf with Adobe reader it shows all the secure stuff that wasn't supposed to be leaked. An oversight most likely.
