In todays video I go over how we generally bid snow plowing work. Depending on where you are located the process might be a lot different then where we are here in central Mn but this is what works for us!

We do the same here. Try and do 60/40 split. Salt is an extra removal is an extra. I’ve always found with the monthly accounts when we get a lot of snow events or large ones that cost us more then we base or monthly pricing on, we end up making it back and then some with snow removal or pile roll backs/ relocation etc. Like you said generally once we factor in the low activity in November and March it makes up for any extra plows we did Dec-Feb

If you work for a contractor you get paid by the hr like there's a snow removal business here that has over 500 people working for them they give ya what lot to go to so they give an hourly wage 100 an hr they probaly charge 150 hr per truck or bobcat but they make most of the money salting

Hey Garrett, great video. what tracks do you run for snow removal? Do you swap them out in the spring for dirt work?

Does the bobcat in this video with the pusher move more snow than a truck with wideout plow?

I just got my first parking lot opportunity. I'm needing some idea on the contract side of things. Any way you could email a pdf of your contract. I'd be glad to pay for it...

You should get an interview with Corey Fenstra out of Rogers. He's has a good story about how he built his business.

Do you put a cap on how many events that will cover for the month? say you plan for 4 but do up to 7 visits then any extra for the month is $200 extra? or just eat the extra cost?
we like hourly but just charge $200/hr for our little units and $250 for tractor loader& blower. fair for both sides no-one wins big or losses money.
But we don't have employees, its just the 4 of us.
Do you have a trigger it needs to snow before you go clear? we worry that they will be called constantly throughout a snow storm. we had a 10" snow storm last month and could've been called to clear it during the day at least 3 times just for that storm if its a 3" trigger.
