A demonstration of How to Report Copyright On The Facebook Copyright Report Form is given. The practice of downloading someone's Youtube video, and uploading that video to Facebook is sometimes known as "freebooting". Facebook provides a form to report this activity.

Facebook Copyright Report Form:

Music credits (in order of appearance):

[music credits pending]

For this video, all music was acquired at the the Free Music Archive and licensed under a CCby[X] license which are free to use licenses ( even commercially ). I do tip these artists from time to time, based on the success of my videos. Please check them out, tip em or buy some of their work. Without generous & talented artists, it'd be a bunch of polka stuff. ("Dum da da dum, DEE, dum da da dum..")

I couldn't agree more. I hate it when people reposting stuff on Facebook without giving the original author a credit and providing a link in status post to the original content they found it, some jerks even use it for their mediocre TV shows without telling the author for permission and blurred the watermark (I believe he gave up on it because the local TV station just ignore it).

It's things like this why small time YouTubers have a hard time trying to gain some attention from viewers to get them watch their videos and receive revenues from their videos (of course like all YouTubers do).

We've had many issues with people reposting our pictures and text without permission. Facebook doesn't seem to think copying text and images from a retail website is an issue. They removed a few images but many of them remain. After demonstrating that I took the pictures with my own camera, for my company and have not given them permission to use them, this is the responses I receive:

Hi,

I'm having trouble making an electronic signature, is it necessary or can I just type my full name in the last box, or will this void the complaint form?

What about if you are doing live video streaming and 1000 of people share it on YouTube and Facebook?

Okay, I came to this page after a guy took my paintings without notice and used them to drive traffic and gain revenue to his page via Facebook ads. I messaged him to rectify the issue either by removal of the content or licensing and he launched out on a verbal assault even after I showed my copyright certificate. It boiled down to him just ignoring me...hopefully Facebook delivers on this one.

Good video. So I have a technical question re trademark. I know you're not an IP attorney but what if someone has taken the name of your website, in this case mind's a popular travel website, and used it to "brand" their travel facebook page--same destination? In other words they have liberated your brand? Would FB management take action? Mahalo

So does facebook look at each case individually? Or do they just say "If they don't fight it, it is taken down"?
