I LOVE this man! He was an instrumental figure in my going from being an anti-leftist/anti-progressive to becoming a principled, constitutional conservative . I never thought I could consider myself as such seeing as I'm an atheist and generally conservatives tend to be somewhat inspired by the social conservatism associated with their faith, but upon discovering Ben Shapiro and listening to his podcasts, this imagined requirement didn't matter anymore. 
I'm no more an orthodox, Jewish man as he is an atheist, black, Nigerian girl. What unites Shapiro and I - and others like us - is our principles. Our values which include the belief in small government, seperaration of powers, capitalism and the free market, primacy of our inalienable rights and that the only role of government is to protect those rights, voluntarism, the belief that here in America you are not owed anything and your life is what you make of it, the radical notion that you are free to do as you please as long as you don't impinge on the rights of anyone else. These are positions which cannot just be boiled down to "conservative douchebag, " these are principled values that only serve to expand our liberties and the potentials of mankind rather than destroy them like progressive ideas and policies tend to.

As a liberal (not a leftist!) I have to say, I think Ben Shapiro is one of the few public figures who can actually unite the country. Intelligent liberals and intelligent conservatives alike respect him because, although they might not agree with his positions, he articulates them & the reasons behind them with such clarity & common sense, it's impossible not to open your mind while listening to him. I really hope he runs for president one day.

Don't agree with his politics, but what I respect and in many ways admire is that he is talking about facts and solutions. I think we on the left should take something from him, as we have spent too much time shouting slogans and talking about things rather than coming up with concrete solutions.
