Saruman's/Isengard Unleashed Theme

One of Howard Shore's greatest melodies. A few notes that carry subtle tones of uncertainty and hints of betrayal before developing into an imposing march of power, might and industry. The perfect score which represents this once great but fallen Wizard and the Union of the Two Towers.

Wormtongue: My lord! Even if you do post this video it will only get thousands of views!
Saruman: Tens of thousands.

This theme just struck me as a kid. So mechanical, evil, industrious. Perfect.

It has a very industrialised feel to it.

"Concealed within his fortress, the lord of Mordor sees all. His gaze pierces cloud, shadow, earth, and flesh. You know of what I speak, Gandalf: a great Eye, lidless, wreathed in flame."
RIP Chris Lee, you have one of the best soundtracks for LOTR

"The Elder Days are gone. The Middle Days are passing. The Younger Days are beginning. The time of Elves is over, but our time is at hand:
the world of Men, which we must rule. But we must have power, power to order all things as we will, for that good which only the Wise can see."

Was fortunate enough to be in the trumpet section a full symphonic band that played this in concert.
It was an awesome experience.
We even had a guy in the percussion section "playing" the anvil.

Howard Shore and John Williams are the best at making movie scores for such iconic films. This song is a testament to Howard Shore's awesome ability to capture the intense evil and industrial power of Isengard and the Uruk-Hai.

Probably the most iconic soundtrack of LOTR.

Isengard represents Tolkien's disliking of industry encroaching upon and destroying nature, specifically the English countryside.
The industrial feeling of this track hits the nail on the head.

I love how you can here a debased version of the central gondorian theme in sarumans theme (0:26 - 0:34). This is really meaningful as it was from gondor that saruman was entrusted the keys to orthanc.

Credit to every single person who worked on this phenomenal trilogy. This is what happens when you put the time, effort and care into adapting something. This is what happens when you respect the source material.

I wish people and studios these days would actually do those things because legendary films and TV shows can be created if you do those things.

In the books it's made clear that Saruman was planning on betraying Sauron, while in the movies he's more like Sauron's puppet. It's quite a shame that we never got to see them face off against eachother in battle.

What do you want, Gandalf GREYHAME? Let me guess: the key of Orthanc, or perhaps the key of Barad-dûr itself, along with the crowns of the seven kings and the rods of the five wizards!
