Ingredients:-
Ready Boiled Dal
1 cup toor dal (Split pigeon peas)
(Pressure cooked with 2 cups water, 1 tsp. Salt, 1 tsp. Turmeric powder, ¼ tsp. Asafoetida)

For tempering:-
2 tbsp. Oil
1 tsp. Cumin Seeds
1 tsp. Mustard Seeds
1 tsp. Asofietida
10-12 Curry Leaves
2-3 Green Chillies
1 tsp. Red chilly powder
1 Tomato, chopped
3 cloves of garlic crushed
3-4 Kokam
1 tbsp. Goda masala
½ tsp. Sugar / jaggery
Salt. to taste
¼ cup Coriander leaves
Water as required

Method:-
- Add water to the pressure cooked dal and whisk it.
- In a deep pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, garlic, curry leaves, asafoetida, green chillies and roast until garlic turns slightly golden brown in colour.
- Add the dal and stir.
- Now add tomatoes and coriander leaves, goda masala, red chilli powder, mangosteen (Kokum), sugar and stir.
- Boil on high flame for 7-8 minutes.

Amti is ready to eat!

Oh this is why it tastes so good... Yesterday had zaara rice and daal (daal chawal) it tasted so good... I have never tasted this kinda tasty daal in my life.

Made this tonight, did not have kokum, so I added pickle juice+apple cider vinegar. Worked surprisingly well
