What is PS4 Firmware Spoofing and Should we be using it?

Would it be a good idea to use it to restore saves from the higher firmware version (8.00+) of the game to the patch version (5.05) of the game using the Apollo tool? Or will it not work at all? Please let me know. Thank you :)

So the spoofing wouldn't work for newer disc games? Also, isn't spoofing only installed until the next restart? I think withps3 it had to be spoofed every time console restarted
