The moment his engineer told him to save his tires and Max responded with: “mate I’ve been doing that the past 5 laps” 😂

Most impressive part of this was the patience he showed on the first few laps. Younger versions of Max might've tried to force the issue on Albon/Stroll and got himself into trouble. It was nice to see him willing to back off and take a safer line

Rumor has it that when Leclerc crossed the finish line, Max was already in his 10th lap on Zandvoort.

The fact that max was saving tyres and still being 5 tenths quicker then Perez and sainz is insane

I love how Max took his time passing Stroll, he knew he can't put his race at risk with him

Max is giving me flashbacks of Seb from 2013. What a beast! The machine and master at work.

0:41 hes matured so much. this is why he will win back to back titles. The verstappen of 2016 wouldve just tried steaming past stroll and risk crashing but he lifted and waited to pass him later. Hes becoming an expert at racecraft

Max is in a class of his own, Lauda wasn't kidding when he called him a Wunderkind (Wonderchild) back when he won in Spain, i don't think there was a doubt in anyones mind that Max was World Champion material, but to win like this is just insane.

No more qualifying for Max. Every race from now on should be a last-to-first challenge for Verstappen.

Max: With a car like this, It'd be a shame not to be on the podium

Max Verstappen became the second driver in F1 history to win consecutive races from 10th or lower on the grid and it’s the first time it’s been achieved since 1960.

Bruce McLaren 1959/60
- USA (P10), Argentina (P13)

Max Verstappen 2022
- Hungary (P10), Belgium (P14)

Both drivers set the records following a mid season break (winter/summer).

From Nr. 14 to P1 in 12 laps. Let that sink in. It's incredible

He had such a lead where he could have gone for a coffee break and still win the race.

You know Max is above everyone else when the video for all his overtakes starting 14th lasts only 4 minutes.

0:40 he played it so cool from here onwards, sacrficed positions where he had to, to stay clean, waiting patiently for a safer moment for a fight and shortly after he was leading the race with over half of the distance left and everything being under control what a champ

He truly deserves to win the overall this year. Truly inspiring drive from P14 to P1

Fun Fact: Verstappen is the second ever driver to win back-to-back GPs starting lower than 9th since 60 years

Edit: Thanks for the likes, after reading the reply section i wanna specify the last driver to do so was Bruce McLaren. I was in a rush since I was editing my next video, so yeah.

Max's little "ha ha" over the radio is so great, you can really tell how much he is loving leading the championship

Just for fun. Let Max start from the pit lane in Monza. Could be a nice challenge for him. And I even think he would win that race too... this is the most dominating performance i have seen since Seb in 2013. So much fun to watch.

He’s so complete a driver now. The speed was always there but he’s gained so much wisdom in knowing when you don’t need to make the move
