In this video you will see Version 3 of the Hot Pocket Chop Groove. The phrases that make up this groove were taken from the phrase banks section of my Advanced Sextuplet Chops book and online course. I simply cut and pasted the phrases together to make this pattern. The accents in the fill fall on beats 2 and 4 and give the fill groove-like characteristics. That’s why it is called a Pocket Chop. This lesson breaks the fill/groove into 4 main phrases and shows you how to play them individually and then how to put the whole idea together.
