Annual Sake Lecture & Tasting: Demystifying Sake

Sake expert John Gauntner returns to Japan Society for our popular annual sake talk and tasting event. This year, he dispels some of the myths surrounding sake, guiding attendees through the finer distinctions between varieties. Whether it's nama (unpasteurized) or pasteurized, junmai (pure) or alcohol-added, Gauntner will show how each kind of sake is delicious in its own way. After the talk, taste over 30 types of premium sake from breweries throughout Japan. With Gauntner's expert guidance, everyone from beginners to seasoned sommeliers will learn something new about enjoying everything sake has to offer. Co-organized by Japan Sake Export Association.

A few months ago or so I listened to an interview on public radio that talked all about sake. I remember it was an American gentleman who was learning Sake from the master brewers in Japan. It was super interesting but I was at work and only caught bits and pieces. I think this was the guy but I cannot find the exact show. Anyone know where I can find it?

Saké means Liquor. It could be Nihonshu or Shochu or Whiskey...I got two of your book John! :)
