Day 354: I had the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles OST on in the background while working on schoolwork, and something hit me. I don't remember the memories I have associated with the music, but I do remember the emotions in those memories. Loneliness. Camaraderie. The sadness and tension of knowing something is wrong but allowing yourself to be blissfully ignorant. I had this sudden fleeting desire to play the game again, at whatever monetary cost, that these memories were an important part of figuring out who I was and by extension who I am, and that playing the game would revive these lost memories. Is this nostalgia? Not the aesthetic pleasure of being near something familiar, but the pining need for something that was once there?
