Install exhaust pipe wrap. It’ll help with the heat under the plastic

Nobody every insulates the tubing itself(w/ plumbing insulation?), It seems that would be a super easy way to mitigate a lot of heat transfer. Im still amazed these $25-$45K machines don't come with heat shielding and basic vents ( or parking brakes ).

Great thoughts Joe. 6 years of riding year round in St George has brought us to many of the same solutions. I installed the Wolfsnout Cooler Cab Kit in both of our RZR’s. It doesn’t take away all the heat, but it’s a noticeable change and I think worth it. The thing we love the most is our full folding glass windshield. It’s remarkable how much difference there is folded down as opposed to just the vent open. We have a few insulated water bottles that you can drink from and also mist onto your face. We fill them with ice cubes and then water. Very refreshing to get a nice cool spritz. We also use cooling towels like you can buy at Lowe’s and sporting goods stores. We wet them with cold water at home and put them into a ziplock bag and then the cooler. When they dry out we re-wet with the ice water from the spray/spout bottles. Most importantly we plan our rides during the hot months so we are home before noon. We carry stainless steel 30 oz. tumblers filled with ice tea or soft drinks. They fit into the RZR cup holders perfectly. Cold bottles of water and soft drink refills in the cooler and we can quite comfortably ride in the heat. 👍👍😎

Wrap your exhaust system will improve cooling as well behind the driver seat.

I installed AIR DEFLECTORS from USA Windshields. They mount to the cage, and are adjustable to deflect the air in to the cab, or you can turn them to keep the air from coming in to the cab. USA Windshields is a UTAH local Company, the make the USA brand windshields, and are now making the air deflectors, as well as Sun Visors for all side by sides.

I've bought window mesh nets for my RZR (like on 3:56). It helps block heat from the sun and keeps alot of dust from coming in. I also noticed it was cooler in the cab with them on then without them. Best $150 I have spent on my SXS. I recomend.

Awesome man. Thank you. I thought I was the only one who had a cup holder that could turn an ice coffee into a hot coffee in a few minutes. Lol. I made my own set of lower doors with an opening in them. It works pretty good if you want to take the time to make some nice ones.

My plan is to buy a Polaris; as soon as I am done with university and get a job. Love 4 wheeling in junior college.

Install fans, misters, wrap the hot parts of the cab with heat shield, seal all the openings (doors & floor), remove the front windshield, relocate the radiator to the rear and use a spray bottle mister. Sounds like a lot of work just to make riding in a SXS tolerable during the summer months??? You forgot to mention, wear some good headsets so you don't go deaf from the loud cab noise!

Just bought a new RZR, my first side by side but was really disappointed with the heat and sound issues. I can live with the sound but the heat is unbearable considering I live in Texas. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with solving this problem. Right after watching I ordered a set of door latches, hitting the subscribe and like button.

All good ideas I remove the lower third of my windshield to keep the dust out and keep us cool. I have a pioneer 1000-5.. One other fix I can think of is from the factory most machines are very lean for emissions purposes. I've read that tuners not only make the machines run better but richen the mixture which cools them down. Very pricy though.

Maybe one of the cooling suit that bikers wear for riding in how temps? The one I saw had a sort of air/conditioner that blows cool air on the suit

We are all paying too much for these machines to have to do things to them after we buy them like heat issues!
