This is a global health video blog providing 10 facts about HIV by Dr Greg Martin

Global health (and public health) is truly multidisciplinary and leans on epidemiology, health economics, health policy, statistics, ethics, demography.... the list goes on and on. This YouTube channel is here to provide you with some teaching and information on these topics. I've also posted some videos on how to find work in the global health space and how to raise money or get a grant for your projects.

Please feel free to leave comments and questions - I'll respond to all of them (we'll, I'll try to at least). Feel free to make suggestions as to future content for the channel.

Thanks for the comment Peter. Yes. I'll be doing videos on TB and malaria too (just need to find the time). :)

World AIDS day is coming up! Time to take stock - this is no time for funders to cut back or slow down. In fact, given the opportunity we have to end this epidemic, now is the time to scale up our efforts!!

Okay, sincere question about Fact #4: How are you defining infectious disease, because I find the label of most deadly infectious disease really difficult to believe. Malaria definitely kills more people annually than HIV and I assume it has for quite some time. This was back in 2013, so maybe this is something to do with antiretroviral therapy, but unless "infectious disease" excludes plasmodium and vector based diseases, I really struggle to believe think #4 is true unless ART access had improved so drastically since 2013 that we are in an entirely different paradigm, basically.
