You already love America more than many who were born here.

As a linguistics major, I am so impressed by your accent and your command of the English language. And as a person, I am even more impressed by your desire to use languages to bring people together and show how our similarities are stronger than our differences. You speak gracefully and from the heart. I wish you joy and success in everything you set your mind to.

Thought for a while this was your native accent. Mind blowing!

I grew up in rural East Texas. When I moved to the city, I tried to shed my accent because I was self-conscious about people thinking I sounded stupid. As an adult, I came to love my accent and tried to encourage it to come back. I now live in New England and hope to be known as a Texan in my new home.

Thank you for your appreciation of Southern dialects. I'd never considered how they might be useful to a person learning English, so thank you also for another reason to appreciate them.

As a southern myself, please let me congratulate you on your mastery of the dialect and accents of the American south. The south is certainly full of the most gracious and generous people in the US of A, and I'm proud to know you have met some of them to learn to speak in this language. Have a blessed day.

I just can’t express how delirious I was after watching your interview on AJ+.
Just like you, I’m a Chinese guy born and raised in a big city with a cowboy dream. And I turned myself into a country music fan at college.(Not mainstream pop country but Texas country and something like that) So under the influence of some cowboy songs by Chris LeDoux, Ian Tyson and a bunch of other artists, I started reading some western novels and biographies such as the legendary cowboy Bob Fudge. And the more I learned, the more I realized that cowboy doesn’t mean to sit on the saddle and wear a cowboy hat trying to be cool or be an outlaw like in western movies, this is all about living free, working hard and never giving up, that’s why cowboy is also called cow puncher. I just feel like a part of my soul is closely bound to this culture and they can not be divided anymore. It’s really rare for someone to share the same value with a totally different culture. I hope I can study abroad in Canada or U.S. after graduation so I could have chance to learn something about ranching. Your life experience is the motivation of my dream. Maybe one day we could punch a few cattle together.🤠🤠

Terrific, Bruce. I’m an ABC. You’ve got a real gem here. This will help many Chinese coming to the states learn a regional dialect and help them fit in. It might even be helpful for them if you spoke briefly in Chinese Mandarin (but primarily English) to help them feel more comfortable.

Best luck and hello from California.

Brilliant seeing for the first time a Chinese American Cowboy speaking so well, the Southern accent, and keep it up.You deserve a real reward, and hopefully you can introduce, both the English and Chinese in a southern accent language, in your native country, China, and maybe start the first Cowboy Ranch there aswell

Greetings to you, from Cape-Town, in South-Africa, and Cowboy Up!!

I will subscribe to your Channel for support!!

From halfway across the globe, Malaysia, congratulations in your total immersion and never have I come across an asian/chinese/oriental speaking southern accent. A fan of country music since young, I've always liked the sound of the distinctive southern accent. All the best in your pathing.. I'm now a subscriber. God speed and smooth journey!

I clicked on your video and thought some native southerner was talking while I wasn't looking at the screen and only listening, so congratulations! You sound like a native speaker from the South. Greetings from beloved Arizona.
