My Great Great Great Grandfather George Justus Thielepape and his brother Wilhelm came from Germany to Texas in the early 1840's as part of Adelsverein. George settled in Austin, working as Draftsman for the General Land Office. He owned land in Austin, what is now East Martin Luther King Blvd. He was highly regarded and considered as one of Austin's prominent people.

Wilhelm traveled with Prince Carl of Solms Braunfels during his trip through Texas and is mentioned in the daily personal diary of the Prince. He was later appointed Reconstruction Mayor of San Antonio, Texas. He also designed courthouses and many buildings throughout Central Texas.

Amazing people....

Love drinking beer right there in town square! During Covid they had allowed public drinking and people gave out free beer and all masks were off! Cops could do nothing. Really great town
