Honest opinion here, in terms of the artstyle, it looks okay on it's own. It's pretty colorful and gives me MLP vibes. However considering that this animation style is being used on thomas the tank engine of all things, a series that's not usually cartoon-ey with it's character movements, it's kinda hard to watch. Especially with thomas' smokebox moving as if it's a neck.. Eww.

I just feel bad for Awdry's family. I know that this is meant to be for new audiences, but when you say that this hyperactive cartoon that has no realism is still based on the railway series, there's something wrong with that statement.

If I’m going to be honest, I’m not angry at the reboot I’m just disappointed

The fact that they took the design of Thomas from the my first Thomas and friends toyline (my least favorite Thomas toyline) as well as using chuggington physics and Gordon as Thomas’s dad is what tasks me about this reboot

Now granted it didn’t broke me like what John k did with his jetsons shorts from the web premiere toons or that George of the jungle reboot from 2007 (that for some reason has a second season that’s just as bad as the first) but it’s another reboot that in my opinion doesn’t appeal to me

I’ll give it this the animation in the trailer is quite good (especially since a lot of people including myself want to see more 2d animated cartoons on television) but even so the talents were wasted

I usually don’t mind reboots that are different from the original (especially since in my opinion teen titans go worked because it’s an obvious parody of the dc universe and the 2003 series) but with Thomas you can only go so far until it’s too much
