I like how everybody (myself included) was cracking up when the narrator first moaned out the words "THE LOATHSOME DUNG EATER" like he was on the verge of climax, only for the Dung Eater to be one of the most legitimately terrifying and disturbing things in the game

Got lucky that I was so afraid of opening the dung eater's cell for even a second that I iced him immediately and didn't even realize there was a questline or ending associated with him. I'm surprised more people didn't assume he'd attack immediately as soon as you open his cell, considering he said that's what he would do when he gave you the key.

The absolute terror in Prawn Guy’s voice at the recollection of what the DE did in the gaol, and the pitiful pleas for mercy when you find him butchered and defiled, it’s just too much.
Whoever the VA is for Prawn Guy, give that man a raise.

You CAN save him. In my playthrough I did not buy anything from him, proceeded the Dung Eater questline until I fought him in the moat.
Then I bought a shrimp and the guy moved to the moat. Talked with him until there was no dialogue option, reloaded the area, and he is still fine.

I'll just be frank I killed Dung Eater as soon as I could, there wasn't any hesitation. It wasn't even here, it was in his cell LOL

I actually saved him by trapping Dung Eater in the sewers and feeding him his own medicine :) He had 5 seeds and he was done for.
Blackguard is still selling fresh boiled crab and prawn for me :)

This quest line was so dark and interesting, starting from the swamps and choosing not kill a "bad guy" yet he's tarnished just like us.

Didn't get to do this guy's questline. Killed the Dungeater in his cell and Crab guy is still at his shack I think. If the Crab guy is this good of a soul then may he rest in bonfire.
