“I will find you, I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you, then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust”

This just feels...sad. Jamie longingly looking at Claire.

I honestly can’t stop watching this scene, it’s so simple, we don’t even see Jamie’s face but it’s eerily beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. We know Jamie is dead in Claire’s time it’s heartbreaking.

I love how he stands there leaning on the wall, tilting his head and watching his Claire brush her hair through the window, so very patiently as if watching her is all that he has got to do and this one single moment is all he has been living for. I can imagine Jamie's eyes looking at claire with love and longing. Ughh i can't get over this scene its beautiful yet so heartbreaking.

The author has already confirmed it was Jamie’s ghost

My thoughts: Jamie and Claire were always meant to be together. How? Well, after Jamie dies at Culloden his ghost appears 200 years later at her window to call Claire to him. She goes through the stones, meets and marries him. When Culloden happens he sends her back to protect her and their unborn child. He is about to die at Culloden. But this time it is Claire's ghost who appears to him in a dream and makes him save himself so that he can be with her again. And - eventually - this happens. Those ghosts - their souls, if you prefer - were calling to each other. Jamie and Claire did not manage to change the future for the Scots and the clans but they did change the future for themselves.

Isn't this Jamie calling Claire to him? She is drawn to the stones next day. Why? Someone was calling her - Jamie: her true love.

I was obsessed with this show and did a mini Scottish holiday a couple years back just to visit the beautiful filming locations!! This was filmed in a quaint little town called Falkland. A lady working at the hotel said they had Sam Heughan in the highland garb while they were all there filming. So I firmly believe this is Jamie!

The hair and overall body does add up to Jamie.

Ok got it. First time I rewatched this scene and all of it makes sense. So Jamie is dead and Claire is aswell because they died in this fire I suppose. But anyway both should be dead for 150 years or so. But she dies before she's actually born. So where is Claires soul? Why don't we see her soul here? What I think is that Claires soul returns everytime she is born and is bound to her body. So after every happy life with jamie they die spend 150 years as souls together and then when she is born she has to leave him to go to him as a living human and to die with him. And I am sure that this outlander world has infinite time levels. So these are really two soulmates. :) love it

I have watched and re-watched the whole of ‘Outlander’ dozen’s of times over the last five year’s, and I still get goosebumps at this scene and like Frank said chills down his spine! The whole thing is very atmospheric, I can imagine being there watching Jamie’s Ghost watching Claire!! Clever lighting and Special Effect’s, thank you for the ‘Extra’ Goosebumps Outlander, Cheers 🥂.

One of the best scenes in the show after watching the series. Honestly 😭 after watching the entire series coming back to watching this particular scene hits different 🫠

Deep inside sometimes i wish that Jamie and Claire both faked their death by the fire while they actually escaped to the 20th century thru the stone🤭

I didn't read the books, only watched the show. But I know little things about the books, just like the "ability" that Jamie has to "see" or "sense" something that he doesn't know (like, if I'm not mistaken, when he saw Brianna in his dreams). So my theory is that he can travel through time when he's asleep or dying. I mean, his soul travels through time. And this ghost that appears in the first ep is his soul when he was in the battle of Culloden, almost dying.

Jamie is the most gentle, kind and protective man in the world. He's just the best choice for Claire to marry with, and I dont know how she couldn't think about all those times when he safe her from others as he said "you dont have to be scare of me or anyone, as long as I be with you" he's so perfect 😭 I can't handle it, his love is so pure 🥺
