i love how the 80 influenced his playing. those chunky single string riffs on the third album sound insane.

I used to use 13-56 gauge in drop C in my old stoner band and the tone was HUGE! It was funny watching people trying to play my guitar at the time 😂😂 an 80 sounds INSANE!

Bro finally someone who understands the beauty of the 80 gauge. That is my go to for my bottom string on every electric pretty much. Drop G#, Drop F#, Double Drop D#. The 80 is perfect for 25.5" in drop G#, 27" Drop F#, 28" or longer Double Drop D#. 30" i would probably not use an 80 but 30" is too long of a scale for me for guitar.

I also use an 80 I’m surprised there’s anyone else using them I thought I was alone!

Don't discount exploring other avenues.
Aerosmith's back in the saddle was recorded with a Bass 6

Dudes will put a set of 12-53s on their flimsy 15 year old laminate-top acoustic guitar and call it a set of light strings, then be confused by someone saying this about an electric lol nah dude, get that slop out of the initial pick attack!

The low B on my 27" baritone is a 62, can't even imagine what that'd be like with an 80

The heavier the gauge the more you just open djent

Can't wait for metal dudes to make up a new "fashion" called tuning up and using .005 gauge strings.

Just get a bass with a humbucker at the bridge

I play 16 to 80 on my baritone, don’t see a reason why you couldn’t do it on a shorter scale length. Just need beefy hands.

Keep in mind, Scott’s idea of a beautiful bass has bigger horns than a fkn Ibex 😂

I'm sorry ... he is using 80 string... as in normally it's 10 to like 40? ... 80 is not a string, it's a rebar! How does he still have fingers?
