For those who don't know:the history of schwere Gustav started in n#Z8 Germany on 1941 WWII while the Gustav was named after its creator:nosly Gustav and when hitler saw this he called it the true death star

Context: the “train” is known as dora but mostly called GUSTAV and the Germans made it to shoot at the magiont line in France it had 23 miles of range and fired a 7 ton shell and was very accurate with aiming and as you see in the picture it’s extremely big compared to the tanks besides it it was most likely destroyed and hidden away currently it’s still being searched for but some thing parts of it are in another conspiracy about a gold train in Swiss mountain ranges witch might be a myth but we aren’t sure yet but it’s reload was so long BECUASE they used carts to carry the 7 ton shell and the shell is 800 mm witch is very powerful and it weighed about 1350-1450 tonnes and had to be taken apart and put back together to be moved around witch would take months it was only known to fire once in its entire life no one knows what destroyed it or who destroyed it but it could’ve been a spy thermite bombs or possibly just to avoid soviet capturing it but in general it’s a big railway cannon

To be fair, while the Gustav cannon was indeed the largest ‘conventional’ artillery piece to have existed, the United States, in a believe the late 50s during the Cold War, developed an artillery piece that was designed to launch nuclear warheads. There is a famous video of it firing one.

Shwerer is indeed a feat of engineering and looks powerful but that comes at a cost, it is not very practical because it needed a lot of work to operate, not just that, it costed a lot because it needed a special railway
