Thanks for breaking this down this way. If I understand the formula correctly, it should be 20 cents for each minute of member reading time if 5 minutes is $1. When I apply that method to my earnings I find I earn much less than that. I have a story with 33 minutes of member reading time and it earned $1.17 for .035 cents a minute, rounding up that is 4 cents a minute. Another one has 48 minutes of member reading time and made $1.70 which is the same $/minute as the previous example. One of my more read stories earned $20.83 with 4hrs & 59 minutes of member reading time so that one is closer to 7 cents a minute. Another story had 3 hrs & 41 minutes of read time and that one earned 9 cents a minute. So there must be some additional variable at play as to how much you earn per minute of read time. It's got to be something about how they divvy up a particular member's monthly subscription fee among writers of the stories that member reads.

Valuable advice. I've noticed for myself I tend to read articles that are "4 minutes read". Unless I'm really into the subject and I need to get the content for work/strategy etc.
