Jason, I'm caught up on the 31 days to a safer pilot. I'm a new student I just did my second lesson and had an unnerving for me at least a landing with a 15 kt crosswind, which is my personal minimum at this point. We did a side slip and kept the right wing down. Despite being pushed around by the wind. We sat the right rear wheel down the airplane rotated around to centerline and sat it down beautifully. I'm really enjoying your videos. Be safe and keep the blue side up. 💙

Been an IP and FE in fighters for 2 decade as well as GA. I still come here for excellent knowledge and instructor techniques.

About a month too late finally passed my checkride yesterday after 3rd attempt of power off 180s. I nailed it almost every time from the beginning of training. Doesn’t help that our 172s have been coming out of maintenance with a 1k-1200 rpm idle

5/5. Highly recommended, even if you are not working on Commercial!

I have never practiced this in my plane. I am going to go out there this Monday (the start of my weekend) and practice this maneuver. Thanks again MzeroA for all you do.

I almost failed the power off 180 on my commercial checkride. I was so nervous and rushed to get down, making me too high. When I was floating in ground effect, I raised my flaps, and the plane hit the runway hard. Also, what I found works the best to decide when to turn base is to wait until the touchdown point becomes visible behind the wing (in the piper warrior)

5 for 5. These by far are super scary when you first do them and power management is key. It really easy to not have enough power or altitude and you really have to be on your "A"Game. Thanks for another great video, Jason and

Nice tip Jason. I really appreciate all of the points of flying you focus’s on. Are you in and around the Florida area from time to time.

Excellent reminder of the importance of precision, power off, 180 landing. I was taught that way in my champ, and land that way most of the time. 5/5 headed for 31/31. Great video Jason!

Question - Where did you start your 15 sec count. A beam of the numbers? At pattern alt?

5 for 5. My DPE on my PPL check ride asked me if I had done a power off 180’s. I had done a couple with my CFI. So the DPE had me do one. It wasn’t pretty, but I got us on the runway. Since getting my PPL I have practiced them with my CFI. I think they are kind of fun.
