Even though the way that this scene is structured led you to believe that Endeaaver is comparing himself to Deku in this moment, I'm willing to bet that he's also thinking about what happened to Touya. It makes the tenderness of his response even more heartbreaking because that's probably how he wishes he'd handled his oldest son's issues all those years ago.

I think people tend to underestimate Endeavor's IQ due to his explosive outburst just like how katsuki being much academically smarter than izuku, Endeavor actually solved more cases of villains than all might.
If only he saw what was wrong with his attitude he would've surpassed all might a long time ago.

Saw someone mention this so I want to mention it again. Endeavor and Midoriya are way more alike compared to Endeavor and Bakugo. Both of them had to work really hard to get where they're at and still fail at times. Both Bakugo and All Might were admired and had massive amounts of strength in the beginning. I believe that's why Endeavor understands Midoriya's mumbling and why he said "You're one of us" because he thought Deku was one of those "gifted people" who didn't have a hard time to get where they're at. I mean, most heroes do have a hard time.

But some had to work EXTRA to gain what they have now. Their only difference is Endeavor chose the wrong path to try and win (use his children, etc) while Deku stayed true to his. You can say that Endeavor's only goal was to win and that makes him similar to Bakugo but I feel like Endeavor used to be some wide-eyed teen like Deku, who just wanted to be a good hero.

And just ended up becoming obsessed with winning when he was thrown in the real world of heroes where winning is everything. While Bakugo already had the clear goal of winning while in a young age.

I feel like Endeavor is a split between Deku and Bakugo, in some ways. If that makes sense.

Really makes you wonder how much talent all might had When he could use ofa without recoil, Man may not be bless with a quirk but was given an amazing body and skill where he doesn't have to consciously try to control ofa.
