Gary Indiana. Man that was place was a sketch fest. My dad and I used to stop at the McDonalds there after we got thru Michigan for a quick bite to eat. On one trip the bridge was backed up about 4 miles into Sarnia and we didn’t get to Gary until 1-2am. We asked the manager of the McDonald’s if it would be safe to sleep here for the night, his reply “Well you will get robbed, if it’s you get shot or not.” Enough said, back into the truck fill out the second log and carry on down to Terra Haute.

I got a great LA story. Working for the executive moving company Clark and Reed. It was a big move for one of the VIP's from Rathyon . it was a 3 truck move, so six guys. But the delivery was delayed for whatever reason. So I rented A nice Lincoln Towncar so all of us get out and do the Hollywood sights. A museum next to that famous Chinese Theater was open. Of all things for a homesick Boston guy to be in, the exact TV set of Cheers. The full bar, the back room, everything. That was pretty cool.

The little truck stop in Utah is closed, but the building is still there. Going through Provo canyon, you go through Heber, thats where I live. Out on the salt flats, people still write on rocks and those big art balls are still there. The great Salt Lake is getting really bad. It use to be called Lake Bonnivile which was the size of the great lakes out in your area. So when you're in Utah and youre looking at the mountains, mainly near SLC to Ogden, even out in Tooele. You'll see a pretty good line along the side of the mountain between the rocks and what ever is growing. That is the shore line mark. More useless info for ya lol.

That truckstop in Utah was called JoAnns Gearjammer.. they moved west on 80 out by the racetrack.. then closed about 8-10 years ago.
