Rick an idea for a video would be to take one of the best drivers from each year and go back a year until you start to see significant drop off in performance. Will help people who cant afford new drivers know how old a driver can be and still be great

A faster, further and more forgiving driver. Finally something different this year

Just for fun I looked back at your epic flash review from 5 years ago. You hit that thing just as far and as straight as this new one.

Can’t wait for 10 years when I can try a beat up version of these

They look like a driver you find in the walmart callaway starter set, but cant argue with performance

What a step back from the paradym looks like a cheap epic imo

Please go back to your review of the Callaway Epic Max, Epic Speed and Epic Max LS drivers in 2021. What you said that these were some of the best drivers they have ever made is true! Back then, at approximately 110 mph clubhead speed the numbers of the Epic lineup were as good OR better. The Epic Max carried 282 total 304. Epic Speed 285/307, and Epic Max LS carried 286 total of 310. At 110mph clubhead speed. And you hit it extremely straight and long. Some of the longest bombs with the LS model were huge. There is nothing here to convince me to spend all this money on this new product, especially when the Epic Max and Max LS had the sliding weight track rather than having to remove the weight and replace it. Much better! This almost looks like a step backwards, aside from revised looks. I would definitely recommend investing in the previous 2021 EPIC Max, Speed or Max LS line to get similar performance at 1/2 the price. Not that these don’t perform well, they do but your numbers in previous tests of Callaway drivers even the Ai Smoke standard carried 286 and rolled out to 308. At same clubhead speed. Great review… But no thanks

Callaway CEO: "We need something groundbreaking, something fresh."
Design Team: "How about... We bring back the epic flash but under a new name?”

Rick, great vid but may i humbly make a suggestion? Please keep everything the same but add in ten shots at the end with the previous generation driver from the same manufacturer. Then compare. This would make the review much more useful in my opinion! Thanks for considering!

Nothing beats the look of the first paradym. I love my 3 wood and hybrid

I’m not a fan of these looks but performance is always the winner at the end of the day. I picked up Paradym woods this year and they’ve been brilliant. Love Callaway!

I loved the look of the blue Paradym model so much that nothing can compare anymore. But these seem pretty good.

I watched you yesterday getting a lesson from Nickelson's caddie. He is excellent, and you did very well. He is such a positive person, and his recommendations were spot on. He keeps his recommendations simple, not letting you do more than you really need to. I can see why he was Nickelson's caddie for all these years. As for his win in Scotland, I remember how well he played, and the fans there really appreciate good golf. He didn't do too bad here is South Carolina several years ago. Giving him a sand pile with a bit of grass is like throwing the rabbit into the briar patch.

The annual new driver release is the greatest marketing waffle feast in gold! Every year new £600 drivers are released. Bigger, faster, longer, more forgiving oh and better! Most of the time it’s a new pain job!!! Save your money and get last years for half the price!!

I was curious to see to what extent technology has advanced clubhead performance, so I looked at some prior review of drivers done by you (Rick). As an example here are some stats from videos of your reviews/comparisons of the 2016 and 2017 Taylormade M1.
2016 M1 Ave Spin 2008 Ave Carry 282 Ave Distance 304 Ave CHSpd 1095
2017 M1 Ave Spin 2100 Ave Carry 282 Ave Distance 304 Ave CHSpd 1103
So, based on your stats for these new/newer drivers, it seems like for all the marketing hype there is no SIGNIFICANT improvement in performance. Says volumes about just finding the right club from the last 8-10 years that works for you and staying with it! Thanks/MG

Revealing the club before Callaway posted on Instagram about it here in the US is funny. Love the vid Rick!

We don't all want more distance. I bought a Calloway Epic Max last year and it is on average 7 to 8 metres shorter than my Big Bertha Driver which I bought 8 years prior. I'm a short hitter getting 190m at best with my old Great Big Bertha (Hcapp 16). The Epic is way more forgiving and has much tighter dispersion so I am on the fairway even when hitting out of the heel / toe, much more often, which I would not have been with the Great Big Bertha. This has made my game way more consistent off the tee. Graphite shafts are much improved too with reduced vibrations and wobble, enhanced feedback and comfort, and more custom options. So for me, a new(ish) driver has been a great investment when replacing my 8 year old driver as the technology has improved considerably over this time.

Rick, can you do a head to head versus a Callaway model from 4/5 years ago? Appreciate this is a good product but i very much doubt there would be any statistically significant difference...

Finally time to update my Ping G15. Played 2 rounds with each of the Taylormade Qi35 and Callaway Elyte. Loved both drivers and both very forgiving with good distance with good strikes. Both looked great at address. Ended up buying the Callaway due to questions over breakages with recent Taylormade carbon drivers and I won't be updating for a good while. Cannot believe the comments about how the bottom of the driver looks - who cares if it works!
