I had both an 86 gl1200, and a 94 gl1500 and loved them both! My problem is every bike I buy I fix all the issues the previous owner never bothered with, and then sell the bike for the same amount I buy it for! Not a really solid investment strategy....

This is why I like your videos. Things go wrong and you don't edit them out. Just honesty at its best.

I have an 89 Wing with 170k+ miles on it. Just had the water pump replaced. No problems. I switch between it and my 2018 Wing as my commute bikes. Love it! BTW, I get 40+ mpg on it. Biggest problem is sticking switches, like the cruise control! Electronic cleaner becomes a great friend!

This is the best test ride I have ever been on. I laughed so hard I cried. Driving down the road at 75mph whilst trying to force the vent open and balancing motorcycle parts on your lap. If only we had more of this kind of entertainment our world would be a better place. I am praying for your safety and your Honda.

Grew up loving bad-ass choppers and racebikes. Finally at the age where i feel mature enough to ride bikes. For some reason i keep going back to a Honda Goldwing. Sure it's not hip, doesn't look dangerous or extravagant. But tbh...that's not what i'm after. I want to be able to sporadicly take a bike and do a 6 hour trip without breaking myself. Riding a bike should be relaxing at your terms. This type of motorcycle is actually exactly that for me.
My granddad had several bikes. He's choppers were super cool but they gave me a headache and jointpain. The trips we made on he's Goldwing(exactly this model) were the most memorable to date. Wish me luck finding a solid one!

I stopped riding while serving in the navy. Started back up 8/20 with a 2019 Honda Shadow Areo. Love your video. Look forward to seeing them.

Rode passenger through the Colorado mountains with my Grandfather on the GL 1500, 27 years ago. 1K+ miles round trip. It's a great bike... (if you know how to use it!) Lol!
(He's 5'3" at most) Nothing like a winding up above the tree-line on a Goldwing!

91 years old? Man, Goldwing was SO ahead of it's time, the company wasn't even invented when this bike was blasting the roads! 😄

I have a 1994 GL1500 and love it and agree about not being 100% cosmetically correct as long as it runs well. it have been stored for 5 years with no stabilizer in the fuel before I bought it and started it right up with a fresh battery and only had to run a bottle of seafoam through the tank to get it idle properly. I also have a 1976 GL100 and it still runs just as well as the 1994 :)

I just bought my first Goldwing (1984 w/ 32, 000 miles). I'm super excited. It's always been my"dream bike"

7:00 always wondered about reverse "gear" on the big motorcycles. Reversing the polarity of the starter motor and using the starter motor to move the bike backwards is simple genius.

Gotta love the sound of that engine when he's got it at full throttle. Sounds like an old air-cooled 911.

Hey same thing with my bike, a ninja 650 with about 800$ in mods, selling it for 1500$ with 16000 km on it, the reason he gave me was that it wasn’t a show quality bike so he wasn’t going to sell it for show prices, the bike starts first crank, and Runs like a dream, hope more people become like that
