PS3 Component interference Help.

i use a PVR with my ps3 and every time now i get this snow/interference. ive checked the cable with other stuff and its fine. the PVR is fine with xbox360 quality via Component. its just the ps3?
could it be the component socket is fucked? or is there something i am missing here? as it will not go away after 3 new cables and a new HD-PVR. this also happens when pluged into the HDTV direct.

could it be interference from a external source?

setup is.
PS3 500GB (not SlimJim)
Component into HD-PVR
HDMi into HDT V
Optical into Pioneer VSX1017

any help or nfo would be nice.

I was having the same problem. You know what it was...for me at least. I still had my HDMI lead plugged into the PS3. As soon as I unplugged that, the interference lines went away. Hope that helps man.

funny thing is this was with a offical sony component cable. like i said i used 3 :( i think its the AV port, because i also get it with Composite cable.

well non official cables start playing up on the ps3 after they have been used, i have had the same issue until i bought the proper £15 ones from sony.

It would be unusual for a official sony cable to get inteference, even if they don;t play up else where cheaper ones tend to shake, go blurry and mirror text.

yeah hdmi is better, but cant record with that using the hauppauge as you know. itprobably just is your port area like you said, give it a try and see....also do you like the playstations dynamic themes and xmb area compared to xbox stuff?

Old problem, but persistent. I have the same interference i see in the video, but on a cheap component cable on my Wii. The component input of my hdtv is shared with the composite. If i put the official nintendo composite, the interference dont exists. Only with the cheap cables. I have a cheap cable on ps2 too, but no interference at all...I wonder if official nintendo component cables or MONSTER ones, both expensive, will do the trick.

ive had alot of chain messages sent over ps3 saying that we will have to start paying for online, hope its not true though! good thing on liking the ps3 as a machine lol

never seen this before daagoon. it might be your component cable maybe. i have monster GAME cables which were about $30 australian and it never gives me any of this interference

yea i have a monster cable to and official sony cable. also a cheapO. all give me the same shit.. man £130 just to fix that so i can cap ps3.. naaaa.! HDMi works 100% nothing wrong with that. so ill just never cap any ps3 stuff is all.. and i wanted to cap GOW3 demo and BF2 demo when i get it... Blows!

only thing Xbox has over the ps3 is XboxLive. end of. ps3 is a much better machine imo. xboxlive is what really makes the xbox win over the ps3 network. but then one is Free and the other is OVER PRICED! lol but dont be fooled, ps3 will start to charge for there network. its just a matter of when! look it up.
