The government makes it more affordable to be a single Mom . Unfortunately

Kids aren't for everyone though.
Some parents are awful too their children, I've witnessed this amongst friends and strangers.
Everyone has the right to live life how they choose and we choose not to have kids for both selfish and selfless reasons. But don't tell everyone they should have kids. Make your life decisions for you but not because someone tells you what you should do with your life.

The government makes life more expensive people are less likely to want a family.

I agree that marriage and raising families is perhaps the best thing anyone can do but it still doesn't mean that everyone should do it. Most people know their limits and can't afford the risk of messing up something like a family badly. The view on top of Everest is the most glorious view on Earth. Doesn't mean everyone should risk climbing it!

Married 19 years, and going strong. We have 4 children. I wouldn't change a thing!

Easy to say as a woman, especially a wealthy, successful one.

The frightening thing about having and raising children is that they do no come with instruction manuals and no two are the same.

There was an old term called Hollywood Royalty, and were actors who were successful at their craft, as well as their lives. Many of them had strong moral compasses, and didn't dip into your typical Hollywood lifestyle. It's nice to see someone who hearkens back to that era. Kudos to you Patricia, and to Prager for sharing this.

Dating and marriage are like looking at a menu for women. For men it’s a stressful job interview.

When you're single, your pockets jingle. I'm 42, single, homeowner, no debt. Marriage and kids are liabilities nowadays, something my Boomer parents' generation "had to do".

in general, people really do get married too late (and too often) and have kids too late

Yes, why don't we all be wealthy enough to afford having a kid.
Shocking, a CEO is able to have a kid and be CEO of a business....
The fact is, that 30 years ago you could support a family on one salary. Now, in a lot of places (where a lot of people live), you can't do that. You have a family that both work full time and are still living paying to paycheck. They have a kid and have to balance their schedule, which is pretty unforgiving, and they can't spend money on a nanny since that costs more than what they earn hourly.

PragerU needs to understand reality instead of having a CEO and actress talking about how people should get married and have kids.
Women getting married and having kids does intrinsically limit career opportunities. The fact that women get longer leaves than men even contributes to that. With the women having more time off, means that the man has more advantage of building time and skills in their career. Women having kids affects the women's career more than it affects the mans, simply due to the fact that having time off for a new kid means you are not gaining experience in your job. That's a basic fact.

To stress the point, I should mention there is a difference between having a kid, and a full time nanny to look after that kid while you work, and living paycheck to paycheck without any ability to pay for childcare for your child.

Two privileged women telling other women that they should have a kid and it will help you focus on your career.

Good sentiment, but not every woman or man are meant to be parents, because they will be bad at it.

And for men marriage is really dangerous due to sexist laws and then you add that most women today have high body counts, definitely not suitable to be wives. Men have to navigate through a minefield, so most won't risk getting married.

Wouldn't trade my marriage and/or children for anything

I never wanted children but when my kids came along my whole life changed for the better. A family is such a blessing, my regret is not having more children but in my 20s nobody could have explained that to me. I couldn't imagine what i never had.

This may have been good logic back in the 80's/90's, but with the way marriage is treated in Western society in this day and age it's not worth it.
