About a month ago I was talking to a friend about silly video ideas and one of the ones I mentioned was this song with Hangman. Then the movie came out and I edited the video I really wanted to edit (Mav & Rooster). After I finished I edited 20 seconds of this to send to my friend as a joke. It snowballed (tiny snowball) from there. It's very silly but it was very fun to edit.

Loved it. I'm one of the few people, of my friends and family who've seen the film, who didn't think Hangman was an ass from the beginning. Cocky, yes, but so was maverick in top gun. Though maybe bringing up roosters dad was a jerk move, but he kinda had a point. I'd be happy to see a rooster version, though. :)

My uncles callsign was slick. They called him that because of that bald shaven head he had while everyone else in the corps was rockin a high n tight.

This song was legitimately playing in my head as I saw the thumbnail for the video. Such a great choice, and what a throwback! I remember listening to that song when its music video first dropped back in the day.

Was working recently as a senior backend/devops engineer in a shithole Bosnian-led American company, which actually outsourced 90% of its development efforts to China.

For 3 months there I refactored critical parts of the code, rearranged the server infrastructure, introduced as much as I could previously non-existent security, and implemented a few new services, and automated a lot of other workflows. All by myself, in three months.

The company's owner and the rest of the China writers of code, told me I wasn't a "team player", and I told them "I am not."

The owner then protested that I'm an arrogant prick, and the China folks don't even know what I did whilst there. My final reply was:

- "They couldn't keep up."

I'm so happy about TOPGUN, and especially finding all you folks around here spreading the same love!
