Although there is a slight sluggishness, but it a HUGE improvement over the 1st Galaxy Tab. I'm liking Honeycomb. A LOT.

This looks really nice, but I have learned my lesson about touchwiz and what effect it has on getting OS updates from my experience with a Samsung Captivate. Looks like I will be buying a Xoom.

This is awesome because unlike the iPad there is information you can use right on your home screen without having to go into an App.

Widgets FTW

@guitarman2677 Galaxy tab 10.1 launched without this interface, just stock honeycomb. The plan has always been to put this in an OTA update to the device. So yes at the moment you can buy one without it... but it will eventually update and you will receive this interface. So far I believe only the Wi-Fi only versions have begun to get the update.

So when is Touch Wiz actually coming to the Tab 10.1?

The reason it lags is because its a prototype and not final hardware. They just wanted to show you the new touchwiz ux and how it looks running on android.

The final version will probably be more optimized and alot more smoother

What's that song called? Also touchwiz look acceptable!

@SlashGear it most likely will not be optional once the ui is finished. as soon as the tablet ships with the ui there will be no way of getting rid of it without separate applications or rooting. i imagine all the galaxy tabs released will have the option of upgrading to it but if samsung force people to upgrade then that would seriously be a pain in the ass. i personally dislike oem's adding software. its like microsoft and google etc are good at software, why add stuff?

@john960001

honeycomb is a true tablet OS.
and ipad2 is a big ipod touch.

here is a simple comparison.
ipad2 homescreen = static grid of applications.
samsung galaxt tab 10.1 homescreen = interactive and useful auto-updating, re sizable and customizable. widgets. and it looks like touchwiz even adds windowed apps to some extent.

the functionality of this tablet greatly outweighs whatever lag there may be.
( I see very little).

I'm sorry but where is the lag everyone speaks of? It looks very smooth to me.

I actually quite like the UI. I think j will get a galaxy tab over xoom but its a hard decision to make.

Where did the phone app come from? Was it included in the original release or is it third party? It's not included in my new Galaxy 10.1 :(

@Zmir Moby... Walking on Water.. or God Walking on Water.. something like that. But this is a remix of the original..

@john960001 This and OS specifically design for tablet with alot of customization and apps running in the background and live widgets constantly updating the status like mail widgets.
This is not a phone OS on a tablet. the thing will fly if you put phone OS like Android gingerbread or Froyo.

and dont forget Honeycomb is still in its 3.0 in this video. 3.xx in the future will def. fly

Stop complaining about the lag! it's an early build. If you don't like Touchwix(like me) just root it, remove touchwiz, and put stock honey.comb
