The gullible skeptic

Everything that exists just popped into existence without any external cause. The universe just happened to organize itself in such a way that planets, starts, and chemicals would exist which could potentially support life. Biological organisms self-organized with no guidance or plan from God, out of a state of non-life and continued to develop in complexity until they reached the point we are at today. Humans have a sense of self, free will, and consciousness that are illusory because atheism says so.

These are all claims that skeptics frequently embrace without any skepticism. One-sided skepticism is not healthy.

I'm an ex-Mormon turned atheist who was then called into the love of Jesus Christ. In my (thankfully short) 3.5 years of Atheism, I did exactly that: Gave great criticism to Christianity but very little toward Atheism. What's funny about this is that I kind of knew that I was doing this, yet I did not care.

There isn't a scientific answer to everything.
There isn't a way to prove every hypothesis.
At the end of it, everyone's beliefs are based on faith. Some people have extremely developed beliefs based on faith, and some don't put anything into their beliefs.
The only way to avoid faith is to not have any beliefs.

Belief is a spectrum.

As a member of the church of Jesus Christ...Pastor Winger's argument is just as appicable to gullible believers and their _christian_ leaders being skeptical of anyone trying to increase their gospel knowledge.

Too many people don't realize that coming up with a different word usually doesn't change the meaning that they're trying to describe.
