They sound like cooing, happy babies. I like that this facility is partnered with NOAA and dedicated to aquatic animal rescue, rehab and release. Some animals while in their care help educate the public about their species, the need for conservation, the efforts being made and what more needs to be done. So no, this isn’t a typical “cage the wildlife” zoo, that would be the kind I vehemently oppose. If an animal can’t be released due to permanent illness, injury or an inability to survive, the facility provides a safe, lifetime environment for them. In many instances orphaned babies are rescued who would otherwise quickly die in the wild. Due to their age and development when rescued, they imprint on humans, rendering some unable to adapt to a returned life in the wild. Regardless, I still prefer they be given the chance to live. Every living thing has a purpose, even if we don’t agree with it, like it or even recognize it. So here’s looking at you, sweet belugas. You make me want to sing Baby Beluga over and over until someone punches me in the face to stop it😂
