The handrailing miters won't be easy to make on with shaped lumber and this might not be as easy to build without using round handrailing materials.

Thank you so much. This is basically our stairs. I really appreciate your explanations about how you can indeed just work within the 34 to 38'' to avoid extra cuts. In our stairs we're not even bothering with the right handrail cause they built it way too narrow to lose any more space on a second handrail. Have a great day.

Great video. I watched your video on winder stairs and it was great - I said pure gold. This one is just as good!

If you’re able to answer: Installed 2 straight handrails on a right turn staircase with a landing today, customer didn’t want the rail on the wide side of the landing, so was installed on the right hand side going up. How would you do a wrap around connecting the two handrails? I’ve tried wrapping my head around the angles but didn’t have time to practice… but would’ve been cool.

I've got this exact situation, and am choosing to put the handrail along the outside edge, because it will encourage people to walk along the safer outside path. I have one question though, how do I make the 90 degree turn in the corner, while the handrail is on an incline? I was going to bring the handrail back to level at the corner to make the turn, but I'd like to avoid that if I could.

Looks good on paper but the corners need extra cuts or the handrails won't match on the top

So how would you connect all these odd angles to each other?
I'm thinking Zipbolts. Either Maxi-Miter or Mini-Miter.

I have a similar question as rowhsv. when I try to do miter (2x4ish hand rail) where there is a slop and a change of direction I can't seem to get the miter to line up. Is there a trick to this? thx

The reason you don't see handrail connections on the inside of the stair (as drawn) is because those are impossible, compound miter cuts. Even the handrail on the outside has at least one impossible connection. Any pieces you may have seen, which have been joined, have been "fudged" and forced into position.
It is possible to build geometric stairs and handrails but not with simply, straight handrail pieces as you suggest.
