Thank you for a very informative, smooth flowing presentation.
We played SY in the early 00's, but after moving it was misplaced when unpacking (it'll pop up one day).
Now a decade or so later, I have this edition and wanted a good refresher and guide to the new playstyle. I watched three videos, all good, each a bit different on how it was explained. Yours is the vid I sent to the playgroup with instructions to watch 😉
Clear, concise, jovial, and with all the relevant info entertaining to watch not just 'necessary'.
Now scouring your channel for other games I own and have never played 🤷‍♂

Fantastic explanation, as usual, this time of the new version of the Scotland Yard boardgame. I really like the old version and made my own visor in cardboard.
Some changes of the rules and the small player boards are new. One thing to keep in mind when you play as Moriarty.
Try to write down the station numbers in another order than you normally would, to prevent the hunters to see wich station you are going to next.
I also "doodled" beside the number to make it even more difficult to register the correct number.

I just bought the game and played our very first game. There’s one thing that i can’t understand. The player who chose to be Moriarty, everytime he is On his 3/8 move (and so On) allegendly ended up being inside an hideout. As of, everytime he was supposed to tell us where moriarty was, he never did thanks to his ability inside the hideout. Did we make a mistake? Does he can actually use the ability not to tell detectives his position during his “circled” moves? Cuz if we did the right thing it’s actually very very hard to catch him. He ended up being inside an hideout for his 3rd, 8th, 13th, 18th and 24th move, leading Us detective to lose our game. Is that possibile?

Thanks for the great teach as always. :) I'm a sucker for a Sherlock Holmes game but I've been feeling a little like the theme is too often pasted on lately, plus I feel like I've got the ultimate Holmes game anyway ("Watson & Holmes"). But I've never played the original "Scotland Yard" so this could push me over the edge. Is "SY" generally regarded as a good game, or just something people have lots of nostalgia for?

Question about black ticket (regular SY edition): if mr x stands on a number with only a possibility to travel with a taxi, and mr x uses a black ticket, can he use that as a bus or subway ticket to the closest bus or subway station?

I’ve been playing this game tonight and were confused as to whether you are able to go “through” the other tokens? For instance if someone is on the train track, are you able to miss one stop and then go to the next one, or does the token on the next station “block” that route.

I hope this makes sense. Really enjoyed playing this tonight!

Rules question: You said that as long as a detective can move, even a bobby, the game continues. But if a bobby is treated like it has infinite moves, then it would never end unless all 3 crimes are committed or he is caught right?
