I`ve read the book and rewatched the miniseries, here`s the result. The book deeply impressed me. The series of course cannot capture all the meaning and the atmosphere, but still, it is the best screen version that could be ever made. Especially comparing with the later version with Reese Witherspoon, which is awful.

Another great video for us Vanity Fair fans! You include a clip of the back of David Suchet in Trollope’s The Way We Live Now. Another great series-I love Suchet in it, but the greatest character in that is Felix-he’s just so....I know people liked him in Pride & Prejudice, but McFadden (?) just nails Felix. He’s incredible-I wish more people knew about The Way We Live Now. Also the actress who plays Marie-Shirley Henderson- is also absolutely astonishing in her character. It’s such a great series.

I rewatched the BBC 1998 mini series recently. It perhaps doesn't capture the essence of the book's story - but it's still the best screen adaptation. I think it's flawed - but still as I said - much better than other versions.
