HIIT workouts help with insulin resistance. Just finding out, in my mid 30's, had adult acne my entire adult life, and now entering perimenopause. I started a HIIT routine 6 months ago and started eating more protein. Never too late to start.

I figured this out on my own lol. I'm 44. Sugar worsens my arthritis as well.

It's important to point out, these studies were done with patients at dermatology clinics, meaning most of them probably had pretty severe acne. I could not find public studies on the acne/IR relationship for general populace. So take this with a grain of salt, and consult your doctor if you think you have IR instead of youtube

Right on, I always tell young people to avoid sugar 😊

I never had any significant breakouts when I was growing up - or up to now. What I did have was the darkening of my neck and it was significant. No doctor ever told me it was insulin resistance… until I was literally an adult. I’m glad that the diabetes prevention is more widespread now so that doctors are more equipped to recognize the insulin resistance before running tests.

The wording here was sketchy enough for me to doubt that it's 100% true. I want to know the exact hormones, and what exactly "toxic insulin" is, for me to believe a Youtube Short just like that. I'm not a biologist but I have a strong gut feeling that this video was skipping a lot of important info

Wow. very helpful I needed this info in my 20's when I had acne, a decade before I discovered insulin resistance. Makes sense now. I was always wondering what was going on internally & the endocrinologist at the time sure didn't have much to say. Silver lining I'll use this info for my kids which matters the most to me anyway .

I'm 58 y.o. and only now I understand what happened to my skin when I was in my teens, thank you for this very useful vídeo. My parents never took me to a doctor, they told me to treat agressive acne with toothpaste and alchohol. Only when I began working and was able to Go to a doctor by myself I could treat my skin correctly but never understood what caused that kind of acne.

I was 18 before I ever had a zit. I’m 63 now and barely have any gray hair and I’ve never dyed my hair.
But I love sugar.

My acne is often caused by stress. I had severe acne when I was a child and I also had sweat that would turn by white shirts yellow under the armpits
My childhood was very stressful and it showed in my body but I was a kid 🤷‍♀️
What did I know

I didn't have any pimples in my teens. Don't know if it was my hormones or Mediterranean diet. Although my first pimple came when I was 21, I didn't have many through the years. My skin is still good, I'm 67 now.😊. Lucky with the skin, but not with fine hair or osteoarthritis( in my knees).

So one pimple everyone once in awhile is insulin resistance vs some dirt or bacteria

I have sebascious cyst in the middle of my back that keeps coming back after extracting the fat from the cyst, until I learned the dr Berg about bile salts. in 2003 my gull bladder was removed, and I remembered a few years later I remember that cyst grew. So I started taking ox bile salt, and the cyst is minimized to almost none existant.

So it does have something to do with insulin, but i think its more so insulin binding to the same receptors as SHBG which increases free testosterone in the body. More testosterone=more sebum production. It also raises IGF-1 which doubly raises sebum production

I had lots of acne in school... but then I took treatment for acne. Nothing related to hormones. Only vit, retinol, anti pimple cream . Nothing related to hormones.
But now I have very clear skin
