I'm very excited to hear about the science that goes into this mission. The pictures just make it so much more present and real. Proud to be an American. Proud to be Human. NASA is really building a fantastic legacy with the MSL work. Keep it up!!

7:15 - Cross your eyes until the pictures produce a 3D image in the middle. SO awesome! Thank you NASA.
By the way, I would like to see the pictures unmodified as it would look as though we were there.

This is a ground breaking time for US, Nasa, and the world. Voyager just left the solar system, now we are have smart robot feeding us relative real time data from MARS. We are still in infantile state regarding our space travel, exploration. What better to invest in, certainly not Nuclear weapons. As a tax payer I think we are on the right track with this effort.

Beautiful pictures!... That's what all the extra bandwidth should be used on....

its resolution is really 720p, it just looks like it went through extremely low bit rate somewhere in the pipeline before the youtube

NASA you got problem with format of your videos. It's best to record it in MP4 before uploading on youtube.

Bill Nye looks sickly, I see shadows going both directions on the wheel tracks - does this mean the Sun is directly over head ? - hoping that in 10 Sols we are farther away from the landing area to get more Virgin Samples, can this smell device detect Ozone ?, I heard the Weather instruments are damaged - will this effect the ability to get Temp readings & moisture readings ? :) QC

what's mars pressure compared to earth's average standing pressure?

I would have thought the first thing you would have done is find a large riverbed and go to it. minerals and anything interesting from inside mars would be laying in it. secondly not to feed the conspiracy theorists. but some of those close shots remind me of certain areas of outback australia. just minus small vegitation.

NASA can beam back HD from freaking Mars, but they can not upload more than webcam videos?

Very worth going to Curosity home page to download the full res pics shown here. I've got two fairly big screens so looks really dramatic when looking at these pics full size. This looks like being one exciting mission!!!……… …☁☁☁⁘⁙☁☁⁙..☁……Hᴜɢʜ….TU…..ツ

all my possessions for my entire life up to now ISN'T a drop in the bucket compared to 2 POINT FIVE BILLION DOLLARS!! (sorry for the caps but... dude... 2.5 billion dollars)

So bandwidth was wasted to send a mp3 to Mars only to have it sent back. Somebody has too much time on their hands. Maybe now you can have the laser point toward Earth and blink a Morse code signal in order to kiss some other bureaucrats butt...

well, it is HD but the encoding is pretty bad
