GRAYLING FISHING: On the River Test | Duncan Charman Angling

Every morning when I awake to a frost and high pressure my thoughts turn to grayling. I created this video to show just how enjoyable grayling fishing is and wanted to show those anglers wanting to try it for the first time, what tackle you will need and how simple it is to catch these beautiful fish. I also noticed just how few grayling bait fishing videos there are, so something a little different to keep us all-rounders occupied whilst we are stuck indoors.

Reminds me of the brilliant day I had with Duncan on the Lower Itchen Fishery trotting for grayling. Be great to repeat the day again!

lovely video, haven't been for years, but used to fish Test and Itchen regularly - my PB grayling, dace, roach, sea trout and brown trout all came from the test, which says so much about the quality of the fishing

Really enjoyed the video I don't think there's anything better than grailing fishing When the nights are drawing in and the autumnal feeling is strong Being down on the bank with a flask of coffee and the dreams are grailing in the mind

Pete Drennan and The Olivettes. One of my favourite songs of theirs is 'Catapult Love'. Been trying to find a vinyl copy for years.

I see you’re fishing adjacent to Broadlands lake just south of the M27. I’m coming from Canada in spring / early summer to visit my mother and other family in the Hursley / Chandlers Ford area and really want to fly fish the Test and/or other chalk streams in the area (Itchen, Dever, Anton etc). I’m somewhat put off by some of the high prices on some fly fishing only Beats (although I will likely do one day on one) and was wondering about the areas you fish, including that of this video. Are they club, day beats and how much would they cost per day? Kind regards.
