I like how he trusted himself to score instead of passing

I wish the mid range game would come back. Garnett’s shot from the elbow was money and he still had post moves to work with. Was great to watch.

Yall talking about he should have passed like Prigioni and Jose Calderon aren't the options. As a lifelong Knicks fan, I can assure you they would have just passed the ball back with minimal time on the shot clock, forcing Melo to make an even tougher shot.

Melo is so good in the isolation that he didnt need to run through screens and dribble 30 times to get 28 points a game

One of the 10 best scorers in NBA history has a 1v1 situation in the middle of the floor and people in these comments saying he should’ve passed. Passing would be a great play but getting your best guy an iso situation is what you try to do so, he should be attacking to score. Also when Melo would pass guys would far too often miss, for some reason wouldn’t shoot it, or just throw the ball back to him with like 3 seconds left 😂 so he would have to jack up a tough shot. Melo WAS the offense for the Knicks, he covered a lot of holes on these terrible rosters.

Mid range game is dangerous, Jordan, kobe, melo, etc. deadly at the end of games, you can shoot from the high post and have more ways to get the shot off than you would from 3

Haters can't understand why Melo is one of the greatest. He's a big slow low flying small forward. But his feet and shot were so quick and precise with a strong body and a finesse game that he was a superstar big slow low flying small forward. And because he was so smooth and coordinated with it, it made that sht pretty as a MF. You'll never see another SF with that combination that can pull off becoming a superstar ever again. He's 1 of 1 just in a different packaging and he had all the proper tools in his bag to go to work and get busy with his game. But he definitely needed some better teammates and smarter coaches
