I driven every time I've been to Jamaica. Its pretty safe if you drive smart and let those crazy drivers who overtake on bends go past you. What gets me the most, is the roads between Montego Bay and Ochi Rios where it's not built up and even on a dual carriageway, the speed limit is 80km/50mph. Even on the toll roads from St Anns to Kingston where there are no built up areas is the same speed limit and that road is empty because of the ridiculous price of travelling on it.
