We currently have enough cash in the bank at the time of making this video to pay off our mortgage in full, and have no other debts of any kind. We did not inherit any money from our parents to do this.

This is the first video of this series. Many more to come that will go more in to detail of how we save

Hey guys thanks so much for watching. Full disclosure my wife does not own a smart phone. She is able to get cell service through her family's plan for only $10 a month. She was grandfathered into the plan so it never made financial sense to take her off of it even once we got married. Even the AT&T rep advised us against her getting off her parent's plan. This is my first personal finance video so let me know if you would like to see more like this. Thanks!

I have an iPhone SE. I only spend $3/ month on a prepaid plan. It doesn’t have a data plan but I have access to WiFi most of the time, whether at work or home so it’s not necessary. I have no land line. I don’t drink alcohol, nor do I drink soft drinks. I only go out to eat once or twice per year, with most of what I eat bring home cooked meals. I don’t use cable and only periodically subscribe to Netflix or Hulu if if they have a series I want to watch. I only buy new clothing once a year and maybe undergarments a little more often. After rent, I only spend $400/ month saving about 60% of my income.

Tip. Here we can buy cloths at the Aldi or Lidl for like 6-12 euro's. For work i have workcloths wich my compagny pays. And for an special occasion we have 2 special sets of cloths. So one only needs around 4-5 sets of cloths:)

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. I bought it used about 4 years ago. My husband has a old flip phone. We both have prepaid through H20 wireless. We get 100 minutes every three months for $9.00, no tax or fees. Just straight $9.00. You can use internet inside that $9.00 or just talk using your $9.00. Your minutes rollover. We still have a landline that is $22.00 a month after taxes and fees. The way we think about this is, we pay for a very cheap pre-paid every three months and our landline every month and it is still cheaper than anybodies unlimited cell phone plan.

I use my at&t go phone plan as my internet hotspot. It's never slow so I pay 75 a month but have no internet bill. Never run out of high speed internet.

We can also save from transportation. We can use manual bikes or electric bikes if the workplace is just near our house.

About the OtterBox they are very expensive and I didn't want to spend the money but I did want something to protect my phone. I found a $7 case on Amazon that holds your credit cards and it folds over the top of your phone. I have dropped my phone numerous times and have not had one scratch or any problem.

Hi are you doing the saving before, during, or after you pay off debts? We have roughly 35k between cards and cars that we want to pay off before we start saving. Recommendations?

I replace batteries in an old phone that I had. The problem is that becomes an expensive solution that after a while doesn't work so you end up spending more in batteries than you would on a new phone.

We both have flip phones. We watch Netflix three times a week, electricity is expensive here so, we cut back on t.v. usage. I cut my own hair. We spend around 200.00 a year on new clothes but, only buy them when we need replacements.
