Lament for a Witch - Roxane Genot

I wrote this one a few months ago, after the passing of a dear friend I considered a typical witchy woman, who truly looked and sounded like a witch from bygone times to me (that's definitely a compliment even though it might seem very odd 🙂), which I loved about her. It's a rather sad piece, but also symbolizes the passing of a soul into a magical and reassuring afterlife. I recorded it on cello and a hint of bowed psaltery, and the whole is accompanied by harp and music box for the fairy tale vibe.
