In Altadena California can be found a haunted hill where ghost children are said to push your car out of the way of perceived danger. Thanks to their small unseen hands, vehicles that visit Gravity Hill will be pushed to the top without having to step on the accelerator. Many people have reported this eerie experience, and have come away amazed by the haunted hillside. Paranormal investigators have tried to crack the creepy phenomenon at Gravity Hill.

They debunked this years ago. It's actually going downhill but it's an optical illusion.

It has been proven that it slops down and if you place a ball on road it runs down . Not paranormal at all.

I did this in Alta Dena when I was in high school!!! It does push you up and there are small hands on the bumper!!! We cleaned the bumper before going there to make sure there were no hands prints and they still appeared

That's not the only pushing spirits have been known to do. In national parks where there are cliffs with scenic overlooks, people have been known to be pushed over the cliff by an invisible force.

There is a stream in the UK that runs uphill. Not paranormal at all.

I watched the Ghost Adventures team debunk this on their way to an investigation. No handprints and the car just rolls downhill. Also the story is complete bunk.

Just illusions, as she said there are gravity hills all over the place. Also, streams run uphill.

Driving in Rocky Mountains where rock layers are often tilted, it's easy to feel like you're going down when you're going up and vice versa. Riding on a bicycle, you know right away when you're going up or down.

Haven't been in that part of California, but when I was on an outing with the rest of my library science class [my minor at Shepherd College, now Shepherd University, WV], our teacher drove us to a place where if one puts the car in neutral, Confederate ghosts are said to push it uphill [Burkittsville, MD?]. We tried it. We felt ourselves going uphill. I *know* the car was in neutral because I was in the front passenger seat and I could see that. I don't think the incline was at all steep, but that was probably in 1975 or 1976, so my memory could be wrong there.

This same folklore story exists all around the country from coast to coast. That would be a lot of bus crashes and busloads of dead children. hahaha

I believe in ghosts but this is physics. There's a hill in Scotland that does the same thing. It was featured on Blue Peter, a kids TV series when I was growing up.

Let me explain how the handprints get on the trunk of the cars that claim they are being pushed. First though, when a car is in neutral and on a downward slope it will move slowly forward until it gains enough momentum to roll downhill. It's how gravity works. The hand and fingerprints on the vehicles belong to the people who own or drive the car. When you touch the surface of anything metal or wood the oils in your hands leave an invisible print. Once you toss baby powder across the surface (or any type of powder, be it flour or otherwise) it will not stick to the oily surface where your handprints are leaving an outline of where your hand was when you last touched your trunk or hatchback. It's the same principle when police use powder to get fingerprints at a crime scene only what they use is so fine it also embeds in the creases of the fingerprints themselves. There is nothing paranormal about this occurrence. It's people's own imagination running wild. As a story is told over and over again people begin to believe in it and all rationality and reasoning goes out the window.

We also have a similar phenomenon at a place near where I live in Western New York.

Too many unconfirmed stories to be true. It's a natural phenomena.
