Selena descended the granite stair case, dressed in some cut out jeans and a black hoodie.

"Darling, at dinner table, we dress properly" Julianne informed her, shifting her eyes towards her grand daughters wardrobe choice

"Please. I dont need your snooty rules. I live by my own"She glared and sat down at the table.

"Speaking of rules, you will have to obey a couple."

"Shoot them, and then Ill see if I want to follow them"

"One. Curfew: 10 p.m. No later. Two. You will have the decency to dress in something classier than your adolescent rubbish."

"Its called fashion grand ma"

"I dont care, its atrocious. Next, every year, I host a Grand Ball. It consists of young ladies showing their abilities in high society. If the invitees like what they see, they are generous enough to give away a scholarship. For that, you will need a decent escort and I already have a couple of nominees for the occasion" Julianne took a bite of the green salad on her plate.

"Too bad Grand Ma', I dont plan on attending University. School isnt really my thing"

"Well.. too bad, because you are attending. No discussions" Her grand mother glared. A first.

"Is that all?"

"Yes, pretty much it sweetie"

"Ha! If you think Im gonna follow your fucking rules, youre delusional. First, I dont have a curfew. Im in and out whenever I want. Two, I dress the way I want to. This is a free country and I decided on my fashion choices. And third of all, if you think Im going to agree into letting you set me up with a nerdy ass, youre insane. End of discussions" With that, Selena threw the napkin on her plate and left the room.

"That girl needs our help Gerald..." Julianne sighed and continued on with her meal.

Selena looked out of her window; the sun was shining, the palm trees were lightly moving with the wind, the waves were crashing by the shore. It seemed so peaceful, so unrealistic. At that moment, she had two choices: she could either stay trapped in a hell house or actually get out and do whatever. She opted for the second choice obviously, but something was stopping her her grand mother. She was downstairs, ready to catch Selena getting out. The teenager sighed and looked down her window; a vane was descending the wall and a white classy ladder was attached to it

It was her time to escape.

"Im finally getting out" She rejoiced and opened up her window. She then smoothly climbed down the ladder, but slipped at the 5th step. She thought she was about to fall into a bush, but instead, she felt strong arms around her. Oh, how cliché.

"Ugh. Let go" She glared at the guy

"As you wish princess"The boy smirked, letting go. And yes, as predicted, she fell in the bushes

"Bastard" Selena muttered, rolling her eyes.

"You aint much a sweetheart either" He pointed out, his smirk still plastered on his face. Im Taylor

"And I dont care. But why are you here?"

"I though you didnt care" He rose one eyebrow, testing her.

"I dont give a shit about your name and history. I just want to know why you are here..." She simply stated, a little defensive

"Chill, Im just playing with you" He chuckled

"Yeah, well I dont like being played" She glared

"Whoa, youre not off the hook" He pointed out

"What are you talking about?"

"You know, there is an invention that exists. Its called the front door. Very useful"

"Oh, youre one of those geeks. Snobs if you like..." She grimaced. He had no illusion of a nerd. He was tall, a little tanned by the California sun, but not idiotically. He had those piercing green eyes and his body was certainly something a girl would fall for. He was wearing cargo Bermudas with a white tank, all smothered with dirt and what now. Boy, was he hot.

"If you mean a person who studies and gets fairly good grades at school, then yeah, Im a geek" He smiled

"Smart ass is what you are" Selena smirked, knowing she had the power to test him as well.

"So, you still didnt answer my question" He stated.

"Answer mine first. Why are you here?"

"If you must know, I work for Mrs. Julianne Hoff"

"What? You mean youre a servant...?"

"Gardener actually" He corrected her, with a charming smile

"Oh... cool" She sarcastically replied.

"Now what about you? Whats your deal?"

"Well... my grand mother has her opinion and I have my way in life. The opinions we share dont mash. Im just sneaking out..." She simply said, as if nothing

"Grand mother...? Youre the pesky grand child"

"Pesky doesnt even cover it" She smirked

"And I cant wait to find out what does" He smirked and walked away, leaving her speechless.

Shit. He was something...and Selena couldnt wait to find out what was that little something that made such a big impact on her.
