Tytera TYT MD-390 DMR radio

New toy! I just received my brand new DMR radio from TYT, the MD-390 (with GPS).
This is my first DMR radio. In this video I unbox the MD-390 and show you the box contents. I then go on to program the radio using the supplied cables. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned.

I have the 390gps as well, I find it to be one the best and well-designed units from China. I also bought the RT Systems program and cable. Enjoy

Hey, that radio looks like a fine peace of tech, I live in a place where analog stuff is dying, and the amateurs are starting with DMR, I don't think this is a brick, look for a DMR hot spot in an online store and you will see.. good luck.

It's a shame about the bad activity on your local DMR repeaters. Hopefully they'll come back on-air soon. DMR seems to be a great mode, with lots of potential... stick with it, I'm sure you'll work something out. Good luck. 73

Would you consider using a hot spot? And Some Talk Group channels need you to key up first before you hear anything.

you may forget to set up stun/kill codeplugs that are in DTMF sector. If dialed once that's enough to KO your radio till it gets unlockes from any other correspondent's one.
