Feeding Dud Snake Eggs to our Reptiles!

Показать описание
Unfortunately, our Madagascar Giant Hognoses slugged out this year. Bummer! But not all is lost, as our reptiles sure enjoyed cleaning up the dud eggs... Then, to keep you in the loop, we share with you a couple other bad clutches we got this year. Not everything is going to work out- it's ok! Maybe we'll have better luck with those snakes next year :)

A great mantra for life “I believe in the unicorn egg!” I’m sure it will cause no confusion to those around me.

I'll say it; I'm in my 60s and no longer worry about dignity. "I believe in you, Unicorn Egg!"

It's amazing to see that the eggs won't just be thrown away. Circle of life even in captivity. Love to see it ❤

If the single bull snake egg hatches, the one you drew a unicorn on, you have to name it Charlie.

Considering how MANY MANY clutches are being produced this year, I feel like this is just the inevitable statistical result of "sometimes it doesn't work out." Good to put all of them into one vid, i feel like. So other reptile keepers can feel more seen and reassured, that even when they're doing everything right, the odds will never be 100%

It's really wholesome how Allie is conked out so hard and wakes up so gently and slowly — she clearly feels so safe, comfy and trusting of you all that she has no qualms about turning into a total lizard pancake with legs all akimbo in the open 💚

Writing "Mad Hogs" on a container of Madagascar Giant Hognose eggs will always make me smile.

I believe in unicorns! And Emily's art skills!

I wonder if the move to the Snake House caused the snakes to not produce good fertile eggs. 2020 was also a bad egg season with the move to the zoo.

Rex in the stump was the most hilarious thing! 🤣

At first, I thought, "Is she stuck?" Can you imagine the fire department coming out for s rescue and seeing that?! 😂😂😂

Wish these were good, but sometimes nature is like that. So excited for baby season! All the little bleleleleles to Emily, Ed, Rex, Ally, and all the snake discovery crew, both staff and snakes!

I really like the idea of "useless" eggs still being made useful and i didn't expect this to be the way!

The stress of the activity going on in the zoo and the Snake House may have been a factor in all these slugs? We believe in the Last Unicorn.

I've been into unicorns my whole life. I'm 40 and I still collect them. Heck, I even developed a love for Narwhals because they're the unicorns of the sea❤. I'm rooting for the little baby unicorn egg! 😢❤ I believe in the unicorn egg!!

Rex is such a cutie. She’s so excited to see Emily and get fed she forgets how to actually eat the food 😂

I believe in the Last Unicorn! I hope the baby snake makes it. Honestly, thank you for showing this video. While we love to celebrate your successes, seeing these less-than-optimal videos really make me feel like I get to see more about what's really going on behind the scenes with Snake Discovery.

Love the channel, and all the good work y'all do for the snakes!
