I seen you at the marion Lowes one evening and spoke to you man I hate we didn't have time to talk more. Love your videos and can't believe I met you. Didn't get the chance to let you know your one of the guys who I learned alot from and helped me through my forging . Hope I get the chance to talk to you again. Keep it up man!!

Another option for the guard is to punch the guard all around the tang. Historicaly it was the second most common way to make the guard stick to the tang without a pin or pommel. The most common one was a random piece of wood stuck in the space between tang and guard.

Excellent use of "scrap" from another project. 👍 The S guard does set off the design.
Now in my 70s with advanced age and nerve damage to my hands, I can no longer use a hammer. The shock from hard impacts cause my grip to fail. I do miss the forge and making things. Was a gunsmith for decades and took up blacksmithing in order to build gun parts that were for obsolete weapons, and making springs. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.
Really enjoy watching your work. Always impressed!👍

Nice work! I'm making a (stock removal, not multibar Damascus!) bowie knife right now and have been agonizing over the guard - made two so far and don't like them. Your guard decided me, I'm going to see if I can replicate yours. Fantastic!

Man I missed your content! In your off time I started a Blacksmithing channel myself and got like 60k subs, and you are my biggest inspiration. Thank you for the great videos and the great projects!

Funny how some military personnel still say Rhodesia instead of Zimbabwe. Must have something to do with kicking ass...

Great lookin knife! Especially since it’s made out of “leftovers” essentially. The poaching story was hilarious 😂

I saw your video come up and the line that went through my brain was, Hi folks, John here from Old Hickery Forge!

I love the pattern lines running down blade.. everyone does mosaic and it's boring. Great work!
