WOTC, Magic the Gathering FAIL Again - AI Art Scandal

Wow... WOTC, after promising not to use AI Art, used AI art in Magic the Gathering promotional material. Must have had their fingers crossed behind their backs. Do we really think card art isn't being aided by AI at this point?

I get a little angry in this one. A few naughty words may have slipped past the censors.

MtG took a nose dive starting with the hiring of Mark Rosewater. He's been there since ~2000 and it's all be crap sets since then. Modern frame cards are all garbage.

I'll cherish my copy of the Duelist #4 - where Quinton Hoover did the art for the WHOLE magazine.

Using AI for their art is such a scumy thing and then gaslighting their customer base after it was found out is like movie vilain bad. I use AI art to make my DnD characters for the campaing I play in, then we play for a while and my brother makes amazing hand drawn art for all of our characters and I switch to that. I can't and yet somehow can believe a huge corporation would use AI. This is just the worl we live in now I guess. This was a really awesome and spirited video man, keep up the stellar work.

I hate what ai is doing to music, just as much as visual art. People are too into quick product and monetary gain, kind of scared for the future, integrity. Not even to mention the many dangers of ai, It is not just paranoia, it is problematic.

I guess a mixture of human + partly AI generated Art ist going to be normal in the near future and acutually I don´t mind as long as the artist gets enough time to reflect and improve on the product to make it his personal thing...
The thing that scares me is companies like Hasbro not caring about art and forcing artists to rush out some hastily generated garbage in order to stay alive.

They are making it very easy for me to walk away, unfortunately. Dominaria Remastered is probably the last set I'll really dive into. And even that was a retro set. A company that's trying to double their profits... cutting corners? Crazy. I am branching off, for sure. Just like your channel!! Enjoying your content!
