So this video is rather old and coming back and seeing that it's actually helped a large number of people, I'm kinda in shock.

The content of this video works but there are some stuff I could have explaigned better, and a more efficient way to write the software overall.

I'll try to see if I can find the time to make a new video just to help those who might stumble here and not want to hear my sick middle school voice explaign code I wrote 9 years ago.

so I'm super new to all this but when I run this the little command prompt looking thing doesn't pop up. It just writes it in the bottom... I'm in eclipse and I have it written exactly how you do. At first I had a:
public static void s(String print){
System.out.println(print);
written outside the main method so I could just call the s method but I changed it and still nothing. I'm thinking maybe I have a setting turned off or something? help please

Thanks man :) I was having a hard time creating my own quiz prog. It is funny, as i also did the same thing, way before i watched this.Create if else statements. I was beginning to go crazy because of the result of the prog. I used == to the condition in my if statement. And everytime i run the prog, it always displays the statement in the else statement even though the condition is true. Then i saw you here, use only .equals to the condition. I gave it a try, and it finally worked. haha thanks again. I learned something. Still a newbie here haha

You know, when you actually want to develop a software, you would want it to be as light weight as possible. Naturally, that would only happen only by making changes to the code. So if in a programme, you import the entire 'util' class, that would add unnecessary weight to the programme. Hence, FullOfJavaBeans said that its better to practise by importing a specific part instead of importing the whole library.

I really need your help please reply.
What If I'm supposed to display the correct answer at the end.
Like if there are 5 questions and the user answers all 5 after that I have to display if their answer is correct/wrong along with the correct answer for the one they have went wrong for.
Hope u understand what I mean.

This is the most simple thing to do in java. All he used was if statements and prints. A JFrame one is the version I made.

I want to make this using a GUI but I also want the questions to be taken from a MySQL database, I am fine with the GUI but I could do with a little info about connecting to the MySQL, if you could help? Thanks.

Yes, starting small with php/html and once that complete then will transfer to java. thanks anyway.
