I do have question. I cant take the screens out of the window and they are on the upper level of my home. Will this work with the screen still in the window?

Is there adhesive on both sides? If not it's there a way to tell which side has the adhesive? We were given a patch but don't know which side is the sticky side: (

Looks like crap. Not on my house. However, if you're a renter and moving out, it might not be noticed or even cared about.
